Don't go down to Egypt

This is such an exciting time to be alive.  We could have been born 200, 400, 1200 years ago, but just think about it, God chose for us to be born now in this time.  We are the ones, I believe that will be here to see the eastern sky open up and hear the trumpet blow with the words, COME UP THITHER.

Well, while that is very exciting and all, there is a responsibility we have.  The responsibility to be keenly aware of what is going on in the supernatural.  How do we do that?  That’s a good question, and the answer is simply to be in tune with God.  He has a job for us, not just to

mget by, but to prosper mightily and to help others to find Him so that their path can be divinely directed.

There are so many other voices out there, on the radio, the TV, friends, at work, at the clubs, and most places you choose to go.  Most of these voices are static!  If that is where ones ears are tuned into, it WILL drown out the small still voice of the Lord that says in Isaiah 30:21;   “thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.”

Most of the voices in the world today have most people in a frenzy, running in circles or running around like a chicken with it’s head cut off.  I have to say that I remember going to dinner at my grandfathers and I would help him catch the biggest rooster in the barn yard followed by the            well, shall I say he lost his head over the matter and began to run in all directions bumping into everything.  That’s the way I see most people today, going in different directions trying this and trying that and never accomplishing their destiny.  The plan that God has for their life.  You see, Jeremiah 29:11-13 says; “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.  Then shall you call upon Me, and Ye shall go and pray unto Me, and I will hearken unto you.  And Ye shall seek Me, and find Me, when ye shall search for Me with all you heart”

Having said all that, let me say that as we DILIGENTLY seek Him, He WILL  direct our path.  To many are going when they should have stayed or stayed when they should have went, or went to the wrong place because their path was directed by circumstances or by other voices and not by the powerful small still voice of the Lord.

In Gen 26 (you should read the chapter)  There was a famine in the land and Isaac  was headed for greener pastures in Egypt like his father did when he found himself in a famine.  The Lord spoke to Isaac and said, “Don’t go down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of;  Sojourn in this land, (that I tell ye of) and I will be with thee and will bless thee and your seed”  Because he was obedient to listen and obey, he was blessed, his seed for generations after was blessed, countries were blessed.  In verse 12 it says; “Isaac sowed in that land (during famine) and received in the same year an hundredfold and the Lord blessed him”

God has not changed!  He is the same yesterday, today and forever.  The same blessing that was on Abraham and Isaac is on us, but we MUST be as it says in James 1:22 “be ye doers of the Word, and not hearers only deceiving yourself”

I went to the cherry orchard the other day and the trees were loaded with beautiful plump dark sweet cherries.  I had a ladder so I could reach them, a pail to put them in, all I needed to do was to pick them.  ( And I did)  However, if someone said they were there and ready to be picked, and I saw that they were there and ready to be picked, but chose not to climb the ladder, reach out my hand and pick, then died of starvation, would that be the farmers fault.  But some people at the funeral would say, how could a good farmer allow that to happen?  Why didn’t he do something about it.  I think you know what I’m saying, so many blame God for allowing things to happen to someone but that someone was in Egypt while God was speaking to them as if they were in Kenya or where ever He purposed them to be.

In wrapping up, all we need to do is to diligently seek Him, Listen and Obey.  That’s it in a nut shell.
